Revival Meetings with Ken Gott

An exciting and fruitful event was held on the weekend of 27, 28, 29 and 30 January 2012 and attended by a number of Christians around Cornwall. Ken explained that he usually spends time praying about the many invitations he receives from around the world, but when he saw my email, he felt instantly that God was giving him the green light to come to Cornwall. He immediately instructed his secretary to accept the invitation.

Throughout the weekend Ken talked about the fourteenth chapter of first Kings. He told the story of the Shunamite woman who honoured the man of God by preparing a room for him so that whenever he was passing that way, he could stay there. When the man of God saw what she did, he asks her what he could do in return; she stands in the doorway of the room and says that she has no need. But his servant tells him when she is gone that she has no son.

The story speaks of our need to recognise God’s anointing and to make room for Him in our hearts, our churches and our homes. At this point Ken looked out across the congregation and says that God has given him a word for Cornwall. He says that Cornwall is standing at the doorway of opportunity and that God is inviting us to enter in. He saw the Lord wanting to meet the need in this County for revival and that we need to prepare ourselves for what He desires to do.

Over the 12 years that I have served this County, I have seen many pastors, leaders and Christians cry out to God for Revival. I have stood firmly on the word that God will bring that fresh move of His Holy Spirit. Together with others I have attended and arranged many prayer meetings for revival and my hope and trust in God has not waned. I still believe and expect revival soon. As Ken gave out that word from God, he also dared to declare that a year from now, we will enter into the promise of God. Does that mean revival?

Only God knows, but I expect that over this coming year we need to prepare ourselves, to draw near to God and like the five wise virgins, have our lamps full of oil. We are standing in the doorway of opportunity; let us eagerly wait on God. He is faithful and is not a man that He should lie.
